Sunny Days

Here's the little lady with one of her old favorites...

...and one of her new favorites...

Yesterday while I visited the Spiegelberg house, little Keira asked to hold Adeline. As the two of them sat together, whenever Keira laughed, Adeline laughed, too. It was neat to see. She'll laugh when we laugh, too, just for fun. This morning she rolled back to front to back to front with Steve. She's getting to be a big girl!

Big Day

As I was practicing organ this morning before church, I put Adeline on a blanket on the floor nearby. As she relaxed there on her back, I went through the music, listening to her not-too-convincing complaints at not being the absolute center of attention. Well, I should have listened better. The next time I looked at her, she was on her tummy, as happy as a clam! She had rolled over from her back to her tummy for the first time, and no one got to see it! And try as we may, we can't get her to do it again quite all the way - though it's just a silly little arm that gets in her way! But she is definitely on her way to life on the roll.

It was a big day in other ways, too. The voters voted to change the service time at St. James to accommodate starting Sunday services in Lapeer. So come March 9, we will have 9:00 church at St. James and 11:00 church at the Community Center in Lapeer for anyone who wants to come. Our prospect list continues to grow, and we have reason to believe we will have at least seven families for the first services as of right now! To God be the glory!

And also, butterhorns were introduced to the St. James family for the first time at the potluck. An instant hit, as all you who know butterhorns would expect! : )

So we are ready to enjoy a night of rest here. Sorry no pictures this time.

Picture Post

Our little "dear" officially weighs 14 lbs, 1 oz and is 23.75 inches long, according to her four-month check-up yesterday. She did not appreciate the shots, but seems to be handling everything OK.
We would like to thank Leah for the attire you see us all wearing in this photo. We like her Christmas gifts, and we look forward to seeing the matching shirts on the other family members sometime soon.
We rearranged our living room last Friday. Adeline was not on the couch the whole time, just for the picture.

Thanks for looking and reading! Adeline and her dad just had a very funny interchange of vocal noises. Hopefully we can catch some of it next time it occurs. If not, just kind of imagine what perhaps a baby pterodactyl might sound like. We think Adeline gets pretty close to that vocal intonation. But we could be wrong, I guess.

Happy New Year!

We are keeping warm inside on this cold January day, wishing we could see some snow fall again! Yesterday we all went to church. While Adeline and I visited Jamie and the kids, Adeline was entertained by little Keira. She let out a little chuckle, surprising us all! We still haven't had a complete belly laugh, but she sure likes to smile, giggle and shriek! We have her 4 month check-up this coming Monday, so we'll see how she survives the shots. This weekend Steve is preaching in Burton, so we will have a big Sunday outing. The pictures were taken on New Year's Day.

Second Try

And now I will try including a video.

First Try

This is my first attempt at entering the blogging arena. Mostly this is so that grandparents in far off places like Wisconsin and Minnesota can still keep up with our growing little girl. We'll see how this works! I'll try including a picture.
